Can A Minor, 15 Years Old Cash A Savings Bond Without A Parent Present?

I have a couple $50 series EE savings bonds in my name that I would like to redeem. I have my hospital birth record, and my Certificate of live birth as well as a picture ID from my school. The savings bonds are first in my name and then “OR” my dad’s name. I also have my social security number and what not.

You can redeem US savings bonds when you are 12 y/o. You have the proper ids, but the bonds have to be in your name or have you as a co-owner, not in anyone else’s name. Google US savings bodns to double ck. but it was when i last worked for a bank 3 yrs. ago. Go to your nearest bank & good luck!!!
