Go to the bank would be the easiest option

  4. jlf says:

Go to the Treasury Dept website and look for the savings bond tables. If your bond has a $50 face value, its purchase price in 1998 was $25.

You would need to consult with a brokerage firm/security house to find out its’ value. It would be better to find one in your area and go into the office as they will need to see the actual front and back of the bond for proper authentication. Good Luck !
