Depends on your cost of living and style of living.
Given that you rent a rm in HDB (around $500), eats at hawker centre ($4 per meal) and travel by buses and trains (monthly transportation average around $200 depending nature of work), the average cost is around $1200.
Given that you rent a 3 Rm HDB (Public Housing) wholly (I estimate $1500+/-), eats at hawker centre ($4 per meal) and travel by buses and trains (monthly transportation average around $200 depending nature of work), the average cost is around $2000.
Given that you rent a 2 Rm service apartment, eats at restuarant ($15 per meal) and travel by own private car (Montly car loan repayment + petrol+ maintenance works roughly about $1000), the average cost is around $5000.
So you need to draw a line on where is your line of comfort.

Is this your starting pay? What’s your qualifications/ experiences? Is this gross ot nett? Are you contributing to CPF?
Without the above, its hard to gauge whether its a good deal or not….

All depends on your own standard of living. If you frequent restaurant and hotels for your meals, go clubbing twice a week, own an expensive car, or take the cab to work daily, then your savings is very little or you may even overspend. There are families with 4 members who can survive on a family income of SGD2000 with careful spending on all aspects of living. You should moderate your expenses such as you are able to save at least 25% of your middle-income salary which is more than comfortable for a bachelor.

i guess it depends on what type of job you’re doing, and if you’re looking for accommodation, try view 88db website and look for residential housing for rental or you can try search for housing agent to help you look for a place to stay….good luck

assuming that you do not contribute to CPF (so you either have a Foreigners on Employment Pass, a Professional Visit Pass, or Work Permit) and have no plans on applying for permanent residency… if you were to live a very simple lifestyle of sharing rent with 2 (or more) people in an HDB flat, eat 2-dollar meals in hawkers, never take a taxi, and minimize shopping… SGD3.5K is a good deal and i think you’d probably save at least SGD700.
