I Found Out How Much My Savings Bond Was Worth. If I Deposit It At The Bank, Will They Take It For It’s Value

I found that an old company that my mom used to work for gave me a savings bond when I was born. I recently found that savings bond today. It’s worth about $125. If I deposit it at the credit union, will they take it at how much it’s worth or the face value (it has $50 printed on it)?
Thanks!

They will either cash it for it’s current value, or send it to the Federal Reserve Bank, which will send you a check for it’s current value.
Not all banks are Issuing & Paying Agents for these bonds. But, either way, you will receive the value that has accrued through additional interest earned since it’s origional maturity.
