I Want To Open An Independent Insurance Agency- What Types Of Savings And Checking Accouns Do I Need?

I have been in the business a while as a producer and have a firm grasp on coverage, selling etc. My accounitng is a little shaky, but need some input on what types of checking, savings, trust account, etc., to open? Any help would be great. Also, it is just me, so how do I pay myself w/ an S- corp.

So all US states require all cars on the road to have insurance … since insurance is just dollars put asside for release in the event of emergencies or other pre-determined event … why cant I just put $100,000 into a bank account and call it my auto liability account and have my car insured with the state under my name providing that I don’t touch those funds?

Usually people do an escrow account because they do not want to deal with making sure to save the money to pay for their property taxes and insurance. If you are disciplined, I would say go for it otherwise use the escrow.

I have been debating whether to get health insurance thru my employer or putting that money in a savings account. I currently have no insurance, but leaning towards it. Everyone I speak to, however, advise putting it into a savings account, and not paying the insurance companies. Whats your opinion?
