I for one hate the fact that it’s still light out when I go to bed and the nights seem to go by way too fast IMO. I always looked forward the long nights of the fall and now that’s been shortened by two months. Is there any chance that we’ll go back to the the old 6 month/6 month schedule?

I am needing the best car for commuting and saving the most amount of money and also convenience. I don’t really see ethonal for example when I pull up at a gas station. There are many similarities between 1920s and now, and I have read that everybody then bought cars, appliances and especially stocks on massive credit just like now, only now instead of stocks it is housing and CC debt. Was the little American broke then, too, and just had debt, or were they smarter than today?

My husband does not want to save using a 529 plan because of the penalties that would be enforced if our sons chose not to go to college, but just withdraw the money (10% plus all taxes.)
Are there any alternatives that would allow us to save comparably but without penalties? Or would the two just cancel each other out (No tax breaks but also no risk)?

So all US states require all cars on the road to have insurance … since insurance is just dollars put asside for release in the event of emergencies or other pre-determined event … why cant I just put $100,000 into a bank account and call it my auto liability account and have my car insured with the state under my name providing that I don’t touch those funds?

If you use an ATM it depends on your bank, your account balance, and your banking history.
If you go inside the bank you can empty your account on the spot.

For eg: my employer provides me with a 401(k) plan that allows me to invest the money in individual stocks rather than the default mutual fund choices that the account provides. I was wondering if any provider offers a 529 plan with this kind of flexibility.
