Economist still think that contributing to a 401k will help you retire. In a voltile economy you’d be better off putting moeny in your own pocket. Think of this most companies only hire workers part time and flip them once they are elegabe for benifits. All that time you pay into a 401k legally if you don’t stay with that company for a certain period of time you loose that benifit and the company pockets all that moeny that you put in. So do you really think that 401k’s are a good idea when a company has total control over the accounts. What are you thoughts on this?

I mean, wasn’t that established 1 or 2 hundred years ago? And wasn’t it originally for farmers, so they’d have more “daylight” during the farming months? Isn’t there a lot less need for this archaic system now?
Okay, bottom line: It takes the human body 3 weeks to fully adjust to any new habit. So this means for 6 weeks out of the year people’s habits are all screwed up, thereby contributing to the general level of craziness in the world. Not to mention those of us who aren’t morning people anyway. Talk about GRUMPY!
Can we abolish this please?

If Obama let all the banks fail there would be a complete panic and Everyone would try to get their money out. So ,saving the banks was bad because they were managed poorly, and greedy? Obama should have let them all close their doors, right? Sounds like a pretty bad idea to me.

Many of us are contributing to 401k and other retirement plans and some of us are contributing a larger % of our gross pay than others. Some are contributing little or nothing.
Will the day come when those that did not use their offered plans to save look at those that are comfortably retired and say ( That’s not fair ! ) . And then demand that congress and the president impose major taxes on those that have saved so those that didn’t can reap their share of redistribution of wealth.
And will the political parties be split along those lines.
Does anybody else see this coming?
