I for one hate the fact that it’s still light out when I go to bed and the nights seem to go by way too fast IMO. I always looked forward the long nights of the fall and now that’s been shortened by two months. Is there any chance that we’ll go back to the the old 6 month/6 month schedule?

well, daylight savings time doesnt save energy. In fact, it uses more energy. DST wasn’t instituted to save energy, it was instituted to allow for longer business days, particularly for the construction and recreation industries. More daylight means more time on the construction site, or more time to recreate. construction uses more energy, and many forms of recreation use more energy as well.

It’s pointless, it uses MORE energy (per several research studies done on the subject), and having it light late in the summer is bad enough (you can’t go to sleep and especially because it’s too sunny all summer, the sun just shines in your eyes an hour longer), there’s no need to extend it even longer. It is nice, however, that it’s dark again when I go to work. So… I am keeping my clocks on the correct standard time until April. Anyone else?
