another way of asking is, will a person’s savings be depleted before social security would consider accepting a person for there disability and give a monthly payment? This of course is in the case that the person is without disability income insurance or any kind of workers comp.

When I declared bankruptcy, my banks’ credit card was one of the creditors. I am aware that whilst bankrupt they may not touch any savings I have, but when discharged, will the rules change. A friends son recently started work, and his pay was deposited into his bank account, but when attempting to access it, was told that as he had owed the bank money they were entitled to take the deposited funds.( the loan was not an overdraft, but similar circumstance to my own)

I know they are in the Irish protection scheme and in the UK one (FSCS). But would having 2 protection schemes just make it harder to get compensation, with each one sending me to the other.

I am looking at doing a short sale on my current condo. I lost my job and can not afford my payments. I have money from a student loan, about $7,000 so that I can pay for Fall semester, will the bank try to take that money? If so, is there anything I can do to keep them from getting it cause I do need it to pay for school.

Not possible.
Anyone taking money out of a savings account has to show PHOTO I.D.
Most criminals are not smart enough to put the pieces together, and too lazy to try and make a photo I.D. with your name on it.

For eg: my employer provides me with a 401(k) plan that allows me to invest the money in individual stocks rather than the default mutual fund choices that the account provides. I was wondering if any provider offers a 529 plan with this kind of flexibility.
