Where Do You Keep Savings Bonds? Where Would I Get Them Too?

My son and daughter have recieved quite a few savings bonds in the past 2 years…. where should I keep them? Also I think I will be purchasing some for them also… where would I get them?? THANKS!

    There are infinite amounts of savings bonds on the market. Look at National Savings or various products from banks and building societies.
    As far as where to keep them is concerned, then the best answer has to be in a bank safe deposit box etc but it would be quite responsible to invest in a small domestic safe as a second best.
    Quite honestly, they are fairly safe kept in the draw at home. If they were lost or destroyed in a fire then it would normally be easy enough to get a copy and they would only normally be redeemable in the form of a cheque or funds transfer to the holder of the bond. Unless they were stolen by a thief who then cloned your identity and opened an account in your name (all without you knowing) then they would be fairly safe.

    Hi,
    I would (and do) keep them under lock and key in a fireproof box in my home. I also maintain a seperate listing elsewhere containing their serial numbers. Another safe location would be a safe deposit box in a bank. They are safe as they can’t be cashed by anyone other than their owner.
    As far as purchasing them goes, they can be purchased in any bank. That’s also where you would redeem them when desired.

    You can convert them to electronic bonds. The Treasury no longer endorses paper bonds. They’re still good, don’t worry, but the electronic version is much safer. Go to treasurydirect.gov. You may have to spend a few minutes looking around, but the answers are all there.

    A safe deposit box is a good place to keep them.
    You can get them at a bank.

    They cant be cashed by just anyone, and you can get them at a bank.

    Put it in a bank. get them dirt bikes.
